Back To The 80's Party

These gigs are perfect for a birthday, anniversary, wedding, school re-union, corporate event, club night, stag/hen party or if you're a publican or social club convener just looking for a fun-filled night of eighties nostalgia.

The evening consists of hit after hit of top 80's tunes with me singing vocals and playing the keyboards all completely live, recreating the music and atmosphere of that decadent decade where men wore mullets and material girls with big hair ruled the dance floor!

I was 17 years old in 1980 so the eighties was most definitely my era. I lived through those amazing times and was playing all this music way back in the day when it was actually in the charts.

So get ready to Rock your Rubik, Wiggle your Walkman, and Breakdance on your Betamax with this lively and entertaining 80's party night!

MORE INFO:
1980 dawned a brand new decade bringing with it a new type of synthesizer based music. I was just 16, going on 17 years old and it was exciting times. New keyboard technology exploded and prices of synthesizers tumbled. This helped inspire a new wave of exciting synthpop bands like Gary Numan, Visage, OMD (Orchestral Manouevres In The Dark), Depeche Mode & The Human League. These new affordable synthesizers allowed every musician access to these amazing machines and their sounds, including me.

By the mid 80's the pop charts had exploded with synthesizer music. Bands like Yazoo, Ultravox, Howard Jones, Erasure, Duran Duran, Nik Kershaw, Pet Shop Boys, and Tears For Fears dominated the worlds pop charts. Even older established artistes embraced the use of synthesizers in their music, selling countless millions of records, and helping to truly define the 80's as the decade of the synthesizer.

I spent most of the eighties soaking up the sunshine in the Spanish costas singing and playing keyboards and synthesizers. In the evenings I entertained the holidaymakers in popular Majorca nightspots and by day I worked as a session musician programming analogue synthesizers for a number of local musicians and recording studios.

I have been back in my native Glasgow, Scotland now since the late nineties but those heady days of the eighties have not been forgotten. I still love nothing more than getting out on the road and doing live gigs playing and singing all those old top 80's hits of the day.
